Men's synchronized 3-meter medalists at the 2024 USA Diving Winter National Championships
Two Synchro Titles Awarded on Day One of 2024 Winter Nationals
Bloomington, Ind. – Jack Ryan (Denver, Colo./Stanford University) and Quinn Henninger (Denver, Colo./Indiana University) teamed up to win men’s synchronized 3-meter and Anna Lemkin (Woodside, Calif./Stanford University) and Lanie Gutch (Orlando, Fla./University of North Carolina) won women’s synchronized 10-meter on Wednesday, the opening day of the 2024 USA Diving Winter National Championships.
Henninger and Ryan, former club teammates at the Mile High Dive Club, scored 825.72 points over two lists of dives. They scored more than 80 points on three dives, including twice on their reverse 1 ½ with 3 ½ twists – 81.90 in the morning preliminary and 88.20 in the final. They added 85.05 points on a reverse 3 ½ tuck in the prelim.
Henninger won the winter national title in 3-meter synchro for the second year in a row, having won with Andrew Capobianco a year ago.
Joshua Sollenberger (Fort Wayne, Ind./Indiana University) and Luke Sitz (Prosper, Texas/SMU) finished second with 763.14 points, including 70 or more on all four optional dives in the final. The duo recently fifth together at the World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships in Rio do Janeiro last month.
Alex Wodehouse (Mohnton, Pa./Knight Diving Academy) and Matthew Wong (Fresh Meadows, N.Y./Knight Diving Academy) were third with 505.08 points.
Lemkin and Gutch won their first synchro title together with 506.64 points over two lists of 10-meter dives, highlighted by 66.24 points on an inward 3 ½ tuck in the final. The duo first competed together at the World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships last month, when they placed fourth.
Quintilia Fidanza (Downington, Pa./Knight Diving Academy) and Jewel Hart (Moultrie, Ga./Moss Farms Diving) finished second with 405.36 points at the winter nationals.
The 2024 USA Diving Winter National Championships continue through December 15. Thursday’s schedule features preliminaries and finals for women’s synchronized 3-meter and men’s synchronized 10-meter.
