Brandon Loschiavo Added to U.S. Olympic Team on 10-Meter

PARIS – Brandon Loschiavo (Huntington Beach, Calif.) has been added to the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team. This will be his second Olympic Games.

USA Diving was notified by World Aquatics on Thursday evening that an additional quota spot for men’s 10-meter became available to the United States due to withdrawal of a confirmed athlete.

The men’s 10-meter competition at the Olympic Games is set for August 9-10. How to watch

Loschiavo, a 2020 Olympian, finished second at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Knoxville, Tenn., last month, but the U.S. had only one guaranteed men’s 10-meter quota spot. The United States came up one place shy of receiving a second spot when World Aquatics confirmed entries earlier this month.

A maximum of 136 divers may compete in the diving events in Paris. Countries earned quota spots with top-12 finishes at the World Aquatics Championships in 2023 and 2024. Loschiavo finished eighth at the 2024 World Championships to secure the United States its one guaranteed spot.

Quota places were reallocated to the next highest placing federations from the 2024 World Aquatics Championships not yet qualified, to the extent that the aggregate of all entries (synchronized diving and individual diving) does not exceed 136.
