16 staff members will travel to Tokyo alongside the U.S. Olympic Diving Team for the 2020 Olympic Games. Nine coaches will accompany their athletes, with Drew Johansen being named Head Coach and Matt Scoggin serving as Assistant Coach. Both Johansen and Scoggin are no strangers to the Games.

Johansen, who will coach Andrew Capobianco and Jessica Parratto, was also the head coach in 2012 and 2016 for Team USA. Scoggin, who will coach Alison Gibson and Jordan Windle, was a member of the 1992 U.S. Olympic Diving team and a 2000, 2008, and 2012 Olympic diving coach. Other Olympic coaches, John Proctor, Adam Soldati and John Wingfield, also join the coaching staff alongside first-time Olympic coaches, Mike Hilde, Jeff Bro, Dwight Dumais and Jianli You.

“This is a great coaching team,” said USA Diving High Performance Director, Dan Laak, who will serve as the Team Leader, “We have a mix of great coaches with Olympic experience alongside some amazing coaches experiencing the thrill of the Games for the first time. I am confident that we have a great team in our athletes, coaches, and staff and I’m excited to show the world what Team USA can do.”
