Personal
Lyle is the son of Tina and Mike Yost...He has four younger siblings: Derek, Leslie, Aaron and Mia...Lyle started diving at age age 8 and qualified for his first junior nationals in 2011. His first senior nationals was in 2015...Outside of diving, Lyle enjoys reading, drawing and boxing...He has been supplementing his training with boxing lessons since 2022 ... He also enjoys learning foreign languages (he has a bachelor's degree in Spanish and is pursuing a master's in world language education and would like to become a Spanish teacher)...Between dives, Lyle likes to hang out and talk to people. He doesn't like to get too serious or stuck in his head...His favorite dive is a 205B on 1-meter...Lyle considers staying disciplined the hardest part about his training...A typical pre-competition meal for Lyle includes lots of carbs and protein... His favorite meal outside of competition is pancakes and breakfast foods...His favorite movie is Fight Club...If Lyle could meet anyone, he would want to meet LeBron James...
In 2017 Lyle won the Scholastic Art and Writing, Silver Key Award (Art) and the National Spanish Exam, Gold Award. He was named a 2019 National Merit Commended Student...He is a 3-time OHSAA State Champion (2017, 2018 and 2019).
